The Boston Globe – Metro desk correspondent, November 2011 to present

-Report and write general assignment news features and breaking news updates for New England’s largest daily newspaper. 

 BostonGlobe.com – Web producer, November 2012 to present

-Publish articles, design web pages, and link content on the Globe's paid content website.

-Manage the Globe's Facebook and Twitter accounts

Northeastern U. Initiative for Investigative Reporting – Reporter, January to June 2011

-Worked on three-person team to report and write investigative pieces for two local community publications: The Dorchester Reporter, a weekly paper in Boston’s largest neighborhood, and Cambridge Day, a news website for a vibrant city of 105,000.

-Used public records, Freedom of Information Act requests, Excel database analysis, and in-depth interviews to report on the exponential rise in food stamp use in  Dorchester and  Cambridge, inactive Boston  community centers, and restaurant inspectors  with little  enforcement power in Cambridge.

Boston.com – Business section intern, July to December 2010

-Created  corporate, retail, environment and  career features, including  photo galleries, quizzes, and video for Boston.com, The Boston Globe’s website. Also wrote a little about  local beer.

-Updated and maintained Boston.com/Business and its subsections.

The Boston Globe – Business pages co-op, January to June 2010

-Wrote and contributed to articles about small business, trends, and workplaces.
-Shot, edited, and posted videos about  retail, technology, and travel.

-Oversaw content, editing, layout and photo staff for Northeastern University’s  independent  weekly student newspaper, which has a circulation of 5,500.

The Patriot Ledger – City desk co-op, December 2008 to October 2009

-Reported  breaking news, politics and  features for a daily newspaper serving 55,000 readers in the small city of Quincy, Mass., and the South Shore region of the state.

-Had 12 articles featured on page one. Wrote two to three articles and 10-15 briefs a week. -Posted and updated breaking news and  videos on PatriotLedger.com.

The Jerusalem Post – Editorial intern, April to June 2008

-Summer intern at Jerusalem, Israel-based English language daily with a circulation of 12,000. -Wrote 23 articles about  bids to build Israel’s first solar power plant, mothers of fallen soldiers  getting their son’s remains from Syria, in-fighting among Egyptian Jews stymieing a tour of  Israel, and Israeli  Olympic athletes.

-Reported regularly on the environment and education beats.

2014 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting

-Contributed to The Boston Globes reporting of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and subsequent manhunt for the suspects.
